About Ben

A Lifelong Kentuckian with Deep Roots

Ben Mudd is a fifth-generation Marion Countian who still lives on the same family farm where he was raised — now with his wife, Brittany, and their two daughters. The land that shaped his childhood continues to shape his values: hard work, community, faith, and a deep commitment to small-town Kentucky.

Ben’s story isn’t just about where he’s from — it’s about what he’s chosen to do with those roots. As a husband, father, pharmacist, and small business owner, he has spent his life fighting for better healthcare, stronger communities, and a more accountable government.

A Career in Healthcare — Focused on People

After earning his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky, Ben began working on the front lines of patient care. He’s worked in large chains and independent pharmacies alike, and he currently serves as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, where he advocates for improved access to care, stronger support for independent pharmacies, and smart, local-first healthcare reforms.

Ben is also a small business owner and partner in Hometown Pharmacy of Springfield. His real-world experience as both a healthcare provider and business owner gives him a unique perspective on the challenges Kentuckians face — from red tape and rising costs to declining access in rural areas.

“Too many Kentuckians feel like they’re being left behind. I’m running to change that — to protect our values and bring practical solutions to Frankfort.”

A Family Man with a Heart for His Community

Ben isn’t just a leader in the pharmacy world — he’s been an active servant of his hometown community for over a decade. He’s a graduate of Leadership Kentucky, a former President of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club, and a past board member of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.

In 2022, he was named Kentucky Pharmacist of the Year, in recognition of his impact on patients and the profession.

But for Ben, no title means more than husband and dad. His daughters are the sixth generation to grow up on the family farm — and their future is what drives his passion to lead.

Why He’s Running

Ben Mudd is running for the Kentucky State Senate because he believes Central Kentucky deserves a leader who understands its people, shares its values, and isn’t afraid to fight for them.

He’ll stand up for the unborn. He’ll protect the Second Amendment. He’ll fight for lower taxes, less government, and more opportunity for small towns. And most of all, he’ll always put Kentucky first.
